Purpose: Develop fluency with number word sequences involving multiples of 10

Description: Students rehearse the verbal sequence counting by 10s, saying the next number of the sequence in turn.

##### Adding To and Subtracting Down To a Decuple
Activity 6-A-L-1

Addition & Subtraction to 100: Mental Strategies
Sub-goal A

Purpose: Develop initial mental strategies for addition and subtraction involving adding on from a decuple and subtracting down to a decuple (e.g. 40 + 3 and 43 – x = 40)

Description: Students solve addition and subtraction tasks involving a 2-digit number and a 1-digit number. Tasks are presented on an empty number line, making connections to written equations.

##### Exploring Equal-Sized Groups

Purpose: Develop understanding of equal-sized groups by describing equal grouping tasks

Description: Students use numeral tracks to rehearse forward and backward number word sequences for 10s, on and off the decuple.

Addition & Subtraction to 100: Mental Strategies
Sub-goal A

Purpose: Develop initial mental strategies for addition and subtraction involving adding and subtracting within a decade (e.g., 43 + 5 and 48 – 3) while making connections to knowledge of structuring and relational knowledge to 10

Description: Students solve addition and subtraction tasks involving a 2-digit number and a 1-digit number. Tasks are presented with Mini 10-frames, making connections to written equations.
