Senior Human Resources Generalist

US Math Recovery Council® (USMRC) is dedicated to empowering educators to advance students’ mathematical thinking and success. Math Recovery transforms numeracy education through customized and unique systemic professional learning and resources with meaningful assessment and instruction.

USMRC employs nearly 100 full- and part-time employees. Many of our staff members operate remotely, contributing their talents and expertise from locations across the United States.

We currently have an opening for a full-time Senior Human Resources Generalist. This position will office at the USMRC Headquarters in Eagan, MN.

The Senior Human Resources Generalist role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization while leveraging the support and expertise of third-party partnerships to enhance HR capabilities. The HR Generalist oversees and manages the daily human resource needs for the organization. Responsibilities include a wide range of HR functions, such as recruitment, employee relations, compensation, compliance, and general HR support.

Essential Duties
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future HR partnerships, talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement training programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership team.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and support on HR policies and procedures.
  • Prepare HR-related documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, status tracking, and interview coordination.
  • Oversee and facilitate the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for employees.
  • Maintain complete employee files in accordance with best practice and appropriate laws.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  • Support the performance management process.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Generate reports and analyze HR metrics to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Work closely with HR partners to ensure alignment and consistency in HR processes and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least three years human resource management experience required.
  • Familiarity with PEO processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with external HR service providers.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP) preferred.

Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist

We currently have an opening for a full-time Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist. This position has the option to work from a home office or from the USMRC office in Eagan, MN.

The Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist will lead research and evaluation initiatives contributing to furthering the USMRC mission. This position involves using a variety of research and evaluation methods, collaborating with stakeholders, contributing to USMRC research base, and providing evidence-based insights to drive informed decision-making.

Essential Duties
  • Design, implement, and analyze research and evaluations studies aimed at assessing the effectiveness and impact of existing programs and products while informing the creation of new products or initiatives based on evidence-driven insights.
  • Lead internal evaluation and research initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to apply diverse evaluation methodologies.
  • Publish high-quality content for local or national audiences, highlighting the significance and applicability of USMRC content, services, and products within the educational landscape.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external research or evaluation initiatives, fostering seamless communication and collaboration between the organization and external project partners.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop, bolster, and enhance evaluation strategies related to Math Recovery programs and products.
  • Craft reports and presentations for leadership, emphasizing research trends affecting our mission. Curate the organizational research archive.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • PhD degree in education, mathematics, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Education Materials Production Assistant

US Math Recovery Council (USMRC) is dedicated to empowering educators to advance students’ mathematical thinking and success. Math Recovery transforms numeracy education through customized and unique professional learning with meaningful assessment and instruction.

We currently have an opening for either a part-time or full-time Education Materials Production Assistant in our Eagan, MN office. The Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the production, assembly, receiving, storage, and shipments of educational materials within the daily activities of USMRC business needs.

Essential Duties
  • Supports the assembly and sub-assembly of all educational materials with excellent accuracy and attention to detail, while meeting quality metric standards.
  • Receives and unloads incoming vendor products, verifying and documenting accurate inventory counts on paperwork for system updates, and efficient & timely product storage.
  • Accurately prepares and packages course materials and educational products in fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate daily detailed inventory measures, ensuring enough stock on hand to meet minimum safety stock levels.
  • Assists with quarterly and annual inventory count.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks to maintain clean and efficient work areas to meet safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Creates documents and printing materials as needed for educational material preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma; prefer some college education and/or office/production/assembly experience
  • Previous experience in detailed oriented positions, production, shipping, and/or inventory experience
  • Knowledge in Microsoft365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable on approved stepladders
  • Must learn and be comfortable with drivable order picker raised at 15 feet high
  • Position requires a high degree of manual dexterity and standing for long periods
