About This Workshop
Session 1: Review a process for scaffolding lessons to support a range of prior fractions knowledge. In Session 2 (March 24th) this process will be used in collaborative teams. Cost is $40.
Workshop Details
Addressing Unfinished Learning while planning for grade level content has always been a challenge for classroom teachers. In AVMR Fractions you learned diagnostic tasks to determine students’ progress through the Development of Fractions Concepts. These interactive sessions will explore planning a grade level lesson in which fractions knowledge may impact success. We will consider specific tasks to address unfinished learning within a range of constructs. Participants attending all three sessions in the series will:
- Differentiate lessons for the range of prior knowledge encountered in the classroom
- Observe, practice, and provide and receive feedback on the development of differentiated lessons
- Gain understanding of a process that can be used in any mathematics domain
The workshop is designed to allow participants to join one or all sessions to experience the process in action.
